The Design and Technology Department has been established at Hindu Girls’ College in 2018 as the management believes in empowering girls into a world which was previously gender-biased. It offers subjects like Design & Technology and Design & Communication. Therefore, a modern and well-equipped workshop has been created in order to encourage students to learn in a conducive environment. The department’s philosophy is to provide an exciting experience for all students by developing their knowledge in technical drawing, understanding of structures, including the mastery of mechanism and electrical control while using a range of materials. Moreover learners will also enhance their creativity along with problem solving skills, while ensuring that they improve on their planning as well as evaluation abilities.

Besides, students are offered many opportunities to design and create individual projects as well as participating in group work where they will develop team spirit. Choosing this subject can be considered as a career booster especially for those who are looking forward to put their knowledge into practice in the future by embracing professional fields such as Architecture, Civil Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Graphic Design, 3-D Animation, Film Post-Production and many others.
