Every year, the school celebrates its Founders, a group of visionaries who more than seven decades ago, believed in the future of girls and the emancipation of women in Mauritius.  A hawan was held on the 4th of February and the whole school community was invited to partake in the occasion. It took place in the Gymnasium. This year HGC celebrated its 74th anniversary and a kick start was also given to a series of events and activities culminating with the 75th anniversary in 2020. As usual Managing committee members and Ex-teachers attended the function.
